Clairaudience
Clairaudience is the psychic ability to hear voices, music, or sounds that are not audible to the normal ear and do not originate from the physical environment. These sounds are often described as being heard ‘internally’ or as a voice that seems to come from the air itself without a source. It is one of the most common ways that psychics claim to receive direct messages or names during an investigation.
While similar to DVP (Direct Voice Phenomenon), clairaudience is usually a private experience for the sensitive individual. To validate these experiences, investigators look for ‘confirmed’ clairaudience—where the person hears a name or a specific phrase that is later captured on a digital recorder as an EVP. This provides a bridge between the psychic’s perception and recorded evidence.
