Clairsentience

1 min read Updated March 28, 2026

Clairsentience, or ‘clear feeling,’ is a psychic ability where an individual senses the presence or emotional state of a spirit through their own physical body. A clairsentient might feel a sudden, localized drop in temperature, a ‘heavy’ atmosphere, or physical sensations like a touch or a pressure on the chest. They often ‘pick up’ on the emotions of an entity, experiencing a sudden wave of grief or anger that does not belong to them.

A woman grips her chest in distress as a ghostly figure places its hand over hers, sensing emotional pain.

In an investigation, clairsentients act as human sensors. They can often point researchers toward specific areas of a building where the energy feels ‘active,’ allowing for more targeted equipment placement. Because these sensations are subjective, they are best used in conjunction with technical tools like EMF meters or thermal cameras to see if a physical anomaly correlates with the clairsentient’s experience.
